A: Do you ship an order out next day.
B: No, if you are looking for fast cheap products we are not the store for you. We take great pride in our business and put 150% into each order. We sharpen each razor to perfection and polish it. We put a hand written note in most packages depending on the type of order it is. We are a Straight Razor Specialist and more of an specialty store than a Walmart. So if you are looking for cheap and fast we are not for you. If you are looking to be treated with extra care and respect and want support as a new shaver, we are the store for you. We will go out of our way to make you feel at home and know that you are VERY important to us. Your happiness is more important to us than money and many of our clients agree with that 100%. If we make a mistake, we do everything we can to fix the error and make sure that it turns into a happy experience and you leave with a smile on your face! A: Several people have mentioned the Quality of your Photo's. Is it ok for them to be copied and used else where?
B: All Classic Edge Photographs are copyright protected, so without direct approval from The Classic Edge Shaving Store, we ask that no one post our photo's on any website that is not a Shaving Forum. Our photo's are used on shaving forums all over the world which makes us very proud. But when photos are used to advertize another company other than The Classic Edge Shaving Store, we do not find that ethical. We take great care and pride in our work to make each product look it's best, and for someone else to take advantage of that hard work would be just plain wrong.
A: If we are in the area, can we just drop in?
B: No, we are strickly a Web based business and mail out all orders.
A: I bought a razor from you and the first time I used it I didn't dry it. Well now there is a water mark. What can I do?!
B: Two options, 1. Get a standard polishing paste from your local hardware store and try and removed it carefully! 2. Send it back to me for a FREE polishing, nothing is worse than spending $300 on the razor of your dreams and it gets water marks or rust in the first week! I would not expect any client to have to look at that damage for the next 30 years, so PLEASE send it in for a free polishing.
A: Do you buy Straight Razors or other Shaving related items?
B: Yes, we are always looking for razors to restore. Now if this razor looks like it is rusted through or cracked, chipped or badly pitted it might be beyond saving. If you aren't sure, contact us and we can discuss what you are looking to sell and we can work something out. We also buy full collections and Estate sales.
A: Is it safe to purchase as previously used Straight Razor?
B: Like anything you buy that was previously used, it can hold bacteria and depends on who you are buying from and how Sanitary they are. We learned early on when purchasing a Straight Razor from Ebay that not everyone is serious about cleanliness. We received a razor that was not only covered in soap scum but had hairs still on the blade and in between the scales. As soon as an Antique item comes in the door, it is washed with dish soap and immersed in Mar-v-cide disinfectant for 11 minutes, then once it is restored and made "Shave Ready" prior to packaging i,t is then cleaned once more and re-immersed to ensure that our product comes to you safe for use. We have stopped accepting Ebay restored razors for honing. It has been one problem after another. Clients buy a razor restored from an Ebay seller and send it in for Honing. Your first clue is this. If someone restored a razor to resell to you, why is it not shave ready? Because there are problems with the blade most likely. So we do not accept those razors. We have a full line of restored razors for our clients to choose from that are in perfect condition, clean, safe and most of all "Shave Ready"!
A: Are clients able to come and pick up an order in person?
B: They were before. But due to people taking advantage, we have stopped all in Store Pickups. Products are only mailed out.
A: Do you help new shavers that want advice on stropping?
B: We enjoy helping fellow shavers learn the art of shaving. We will teach you how to strop whenever time permits. We keep sample strops available here for you to test and learn from. Sometimes all you need is a little tip or someone showing you what you are doing wrong.
A: Do you restore razor for clients?
B: We do not get into full razor restoration. We sell fully restored and custom scaled razors for you to choose from, and offer honing services. Our honing services are top rate and you will always get a razor that is beyond "Shave Ready". During the honing process, we do polish razors for a cleaner look and make sure everything is solid and smooth, but we do not remove pitting and fix major repairs as a standard. Presently we do not hone razors restored or sold to you by someone else. We are fully booked and must take care of our clients razors first and if we have extra time take on other razors.
A: If a new shaver gets a "Shave Ready" razor or gets one honed by The Classic Edge Shaving Store and it becomes dull due to mistakes made by a new shaver like poor stropping, can we send it back for free honing?
B: We are here to help, if you get a razor "Shave Ready" and one month later it's dull due to poor stropping or typical beginner errors, send it back!! The last thing we want is for you to give up to easy. When learning you make mistakes, and we are here to ensure that you learn without major damage to your pocket book.
